“A blank piece of paper is God’s way of telling us how hard it is to be God.”
~ Sidney Shelton
And so it is, isn’t it, my writing friends? To sit before a blank page, a blank screen, or an empty note card. Even a blank day on the calendar seems overwhelming in possibilities which we know we can’t address and certainly cannot supply.
Yet, a surgeon makes the first cut. An architect draws the first line. A painter applies the first stroke. A quarterback calls the first play. And things begins to take shape. The creation is underway, taken to hand, guided by heart and mind and depth of study. It is given full expression only as it is allowed to go forth.
And so it is with our lives.
“We can take a breath and remember how simple our assignment really is. Just be, each day, a little scrap of paper for the Spirit to write on, a love note from God to the world.”
~ Kayla McClurg
