Reach out and touch someone
Personal touch never goes out of style and may be our soul’s way to “save” us from ourselves.
Cornerstone
Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. (Psalm 127:1) If you want to build a house, where do you begin? This fascinated me, and frankly would have terrified me, had I not hired expert builders to execute the design drawn by the architect. They […]
Showing No Mercy
So, why not stop shooting when you’ve handily won the match? It’s unkind to keep pummeling away at a much weaker opponent. Here are some of the arguments made. We didn’t come here to make friends. We have a job to do and we’re gonna do it. We’re setting a tone and showcasing our talent. Take […]
When the storm brings rain
We had a much-needed rain last night. Though the arrogant lightning flashed boldly in my window making it hard to fall asleep, when I heard the droplets pelting against my window pane I knew that thirsty Mother Earth would be glad for a drink. In the morning, the soaking had left a smile on the […]
Fasting and Fitness: Keeping Athletes Healthy During Ramadan

The Art of the Jump Shot: what’s God got to do with it?
We kinesthetics do a lot by feel. We move in the space to “see” how big it is. We step outside to test whether we need a jacket today. When asked how long the table is, we spread our arms to demonstrate the size. How heavy is it? Oh, about like picking up _______ (something […]
Rehab
“You’re broken right here.” (Followed by poking right here.) Never helps. Often hurts. Never mends. Often rends. “What happened?” “Whatcha in for?” “You, too?” Often helps. Never hurts. Won’t offend. Often mends. Enough to let the healer, heal, the creator, craft, the Savior save. It all begins right here.
Use it or lose it. done.
Use it or lose it applies in, as far as I can tell, every situation. But what I’ve learned from those aging gracefully is there is no need to tell them that “no pain, no gain” is just bunk.
